I had to work the day before, so Ken picked up our Thanksgiving meal from the Hy-Vee so that we could cook it once we arrived. You know what? I am not sure I will ever be cooking a Thanksgiving meal again. I might just let Hy-Vee handle it from here on out. It was so convenient.
We left Kansas City around 8:00 am and made the four hour drive to Jasper, AR. We had a little time before checking into the cabin, so we drove to the Buffalo River and dilly dallied around. It was a beautiful day.
Such a happy girl all ready for Thanksgiving!

Just like a little kid, checking out the upper Buffalo River
Once at the cabin, we started reheating our Thanksgiving dinner while firing up the Christmas Carols and opening up a bottle of wine. Here are a few pictures of the cabin and a photo of a worn out husky.
Clearly she was suffering for the day.
The Little Cabin in the Woods
Isn't it adorable?
The cabin was so relaxing and inviting
We sat on the deck while our food was cooking and enjoyed how quiet it was. We did find a few board games to play later, but sadly Ken still owes me a game of Monopoly.
Our Thanksgiving spread, complete with a fire in the fireplace. It was the perfect evening.
We ended the night with more wine and we both read a little in our books before calling it an early night to get up for hiking the next morning.
