Day 80:  Time for March Madness!

Day 81:  Watching the KU game at Buffalo Wild Wings

Day 82:  Spent the evening with Jill

Day 83:  Covered in snow and could care less.

Good-Bye Old Friend...

It is no secret at the KJ household that we do not keep cars for very long.  The longest I have owned a car was four years and Ken just celebrated his 4th year of owning his Hummer, Humberto.  With that being said, I should not have been surprised at all when Ken started looking at new cars.

I kind of thought that he would keep him forever, but I also knew that he was ready to move onto something that had more options.  Not that the power windows and the thermometer that Humberto had are not options.  We will just say that Humberto was very basic.

While I was out of town a few weeks ago, Ken text me to tell me he was going to take a personal day.  I knew what that meant.  Poor Humberto was being kicked to the curb.

Bless his heart, he did not even see it coming.

Just like that, Humberto was gone.  Traded in, all for some hot piece of fiberglass with heated seats and remote start.  I hope Ken can sleep at night.

The truth is, Ken almost cried when he left him in the parking lot.  Out of all of the cars he has owned, this was his favorite.  Rest in Peace sweet boy, Rest in Peace.

Move over Humberto, there is a new Sheriff in town!

Photo a Day...Week 11...

Day 71:  You know how we all have that pair of pants that you use as a grading tool to know when it is time to lay off the candy?  Well, this is Theo's version.  The fat checker.

Day 72:  It is a good thing Ken bought me crayons as part of my school supplies.  Coloring for Anatomy!

Day 73:  The KJ girls are ready for bed.  Retainer and all.  :)

Day 74:  Holy Moly, that is a bright outfit.

Day 75:  Should I be embarrassed to admit that I know all of the words?  Rollin, in my 5.0...

Day 76:  He was trying to convince me to eat cantaloupe.  Not happening.

Day 77:  One of our squirrels is holding on for dear life.  We have the fattest squirrels ever.

Sore, Long Legs...

I am sure the LONG legs part gives it away that I am not referring to my legs.  My legs have never and will never be referred to as long.  Know your place, right?

The long legs that I am referring to are those that belong to my husband.  His legs are sore people.  And why are they sore?  Because I took him running with me.  Let that sink in for a moment.  Ken went running with me.  This is the first time it has happened in oh....ever.  Why did he go running with me?  We are planning on hiking Rim to Rim to Rim of the Grand Canyon again and well, he is not in shape at all to do this at the moment.

I kind of went all drill sergeant on him and told him it was now or never.  I am 4'10 and I am not dragging him across the Grand Canyon.  He agreed to go out running with me.  Super.

Now, I am not making fun of him at all.  At all.  I run, he doesn't.  He will never want to be a runner.  Although, he could if he put forth just a tiny bit of effort.  I mean, have you seen his long legs?

We did a total of two miles and it was a run/walk kind of thing.  I am pretty sure there were a few moments where he was convinced that I was trying to kill him for his life insurance.  He survived, no need to worry.

So yesterday, he was all, my legs are sore will you give me a leg massage.  A leg massage?  You mean, you completed a two mile run/walk and you want a leg massage?  I completed a full Ironman and did not get a leg massage.  What is wrong with this picture.

Did I give him a leg massage?  You bet I did.  Why, well I am currently in the market for a new handbag and I am hoping that my long legged husband will foot the bill for said handbag.  Eye on the prize people, eye on the prize.  In short, I can be bought.  This is nothing new.

Love you Ken!

Photo a Day...Week 10...

Day 64:  I was sitting at a stop light on my way home from Chemistry and noticed that I had driven exactly 140.6 miles.  Hmm...that distance sounds so familiar for some reason.

Day 65:  My dinner for the night, sushi from Kona Grill.  My favorite.

Day 66:  This is awfully late for me on a work night.

Day 67:  Walking around downtown Chicago

Day 68:  Still in downtown Chicago, in the lounge in the Hancock Building.  It was well after midnight at this point.  It was so much fun!

Day 69:  Home and at the Martin City St Patty's Day Parade with our neighbors.

Day 70:  Clearly springing forward has made her grumpy.

Photo a Day...Week 9...

Day 57:  Blizzard round two.  The snow was so heavy that a limb broke on one of our trees. Yes, that is my husband with a hack saw in his hand.  Carry on.

Day 58:  Skeletal test day.  Guess who got an A?

Day 59:  You can barely see the owl on one of our trees.  Kya and I see this guy when we are out running all of the time.

Day 60:  Happy Adoption Day Kya!

Day 61:  Riding home from dog park fun.

Day 62:  Very excited to be watching the Kansas City Pet Telethon.

Day 63:  Theodore loves to help me study Anatomy!

Los Angeles to the Wizard of Oz....

Friday night was our monthly game night with all of us girls.  With all of the snow on the ground, we are all ready for a little laughter.  I had a Chemistry test to take right before, so I was extra eager for a glass of wine.

Jill hosted and we played a super phone game that is the drawing version of the telephone guy.  One of the funniest was when I drew Los Angeles and when my flip board game back to me, Michelle had drawn what she thought was the Wizard of Oz!

I mean, look at that detail!

Look who made it!  Miss Heather!  This was my second time to see Mr. Mason. He is growing so much, but still is a tiny little thing!

And yes, he is screaming bloody murder.  I did get him to stop crying though.  Don't get any ideas, I do not want one of my own.  :)

All of us girls.  Thanks for hosting Jill and thanks for the pictures Melissa!

An Adoption Day Weekend Celebration...

You guys know how I pretty much celebrate my birthday for an entire month weekend, so why would Miss Kya be any different?

We started the festivities off by singing Happy Birthday to her.  Don't worry, she totally sings along with us, which is why we sing to her.

She was clearly worn out from our singing, so she was quite cooperative in getting a picture with her mama.

She got a new Cardinals collar.  She loves it and is totally a fan!

Striking a pose to show off her new collar.

A close up of the new collar.  I know, it is blue.  The pink one was not thick enough so we had to get this one.  The funny thing about Miss Kya is that she totally lifts her leg most of the time to pee and people call her a boy.  The only logical explanation for her lifting her leg to pee is that she does not want to tinkle on herself, obviously.

We went to the dog park to play in the snow, because that is just what huskies do.  Can you spot the white husky?

Ken and Kya playing together

Eating snow

She had a great morning of fun at the park!  She was so tired.  It did her good to get out of the house.  Poor girl has a little cabin fever not being able to go run in the snow.

Kya was super excited when we told her the Kansas City Pet Telethon was on.

So excited that she had to get a closer look.

That was a Husky Adoption Day Weekend!  Too bad there was snow otherwise she would have gotten to go on a long run.  Don't worry, I will make it up to her. :)

Photo a Day...Week 8...

Day 50:  Was the day of the very sad explosion at JJ's on the Country Club Plaza.  The smoke was so black that you could see it from our house.  We live about 12 miles South of the Plaza, so you know how bad it must have been.

Day 51:  Good morning from the KJ girls.  Yes, she is howling or singing, whichever you prefer.

Day 52:  Snowmageddon arrived!

Day 53:  Someone is pretty sure that she woke up and is in Siberia!

Day 54:  A bird flew into our window and fell into the snow.  If you enlarge the picture, you can see where the feather of his wings were we he hit the snow.  I am assuming it was a boy bird and he was clearly not paying attention.

Day 55:  Someone can never get enough sun.

Day 56:  Staying up late studying joints.  Isn't that what all the cool kids are doing?
