A Whirlwind of a Weekend...

Wow, the weekend just flew past!  Ken worked all weekend, (I did venture out on Sunday to help him for a few hours).  This past weekend was my last long run before Chicago.  After much thought and debating with myself on how far I should go, I called my friend Susan and we talked through it.  Since I had such an amazing 18 miler the weekend before (average pace was 9:02 without much effort), she told me she did not think running another 18 or 20 miler would be much of a benefit.  I agreed.  I am so ready for this thing!

I ran 16 miles on Saturday and tried to focus on not going to fast.  It was tough.  I kept looking down and I was going faster than I wanted.  I just hope I have this same feeling on 10/10!

I leave you with this photo of me with Johnny Dare at Bikers for Babies on Sunday.  Johnny Dare is a huge radio personality in Kansas City.  His radio station is not my taste in music, but I could not resist having my photo taken with him.  When Ken and I were walking him to his motorcycle, all kinds of people were stopping him for pictures, hugs, handshakes, you name it.  I could not believe it.

In case you are wondering, his arms are as buff as they look.

Happy Hump Day!

You're going to do AWESOME in Chicago!! Can't wait to hear all about it. I loved Chicago so much!

I had to laugh when you were talking about trying to slow it down, that so rarely happens to me.
