We found a coffee shop near by and had delicious lattes and pastries before making our way to the bus stop. After a short ride, we arrived to the stop, walked a bit and were at the cable car and were on our hike!
Views from Mt Ulriken. This is what I imagine hiking in Ireland looks like.
Having a great time on our hike. Ken said my booty game was rather strong in my Lucy pants on this day. Uphill running for the win!
The views from Mt. Ulriken did not disappoint!
Our sheep friends greeting us
Ken and the sheep
The trail was marked but it was kind of interpretive on the path that you can take. It was a lot of up and down, but it was a lot of fun. We had a little bit of rain and it was a little chilly, but overall we could not complain.
Heading to Floyen!
Beautiful scenery
Looking down at Bergen. It felt like we were much higher up than we actually were.
A city built around a fjord is very intriguing to me
It rained on us for a few minutes during the hike, but nothing like it did when we were hiking Trolltunga!
Sheep chilling on Mt Floyen
The hike took us almost four hours, complete with stopping for a picnic lunch. It was a great day to be above Bergen hiking.
Once we were approaching the Floyen funicular, we saw several other hiking options on Mt. Floyen. You could spend a few days in Bergen hiking all of the trails.
We got to the funicular and it was quite busy with people that come up for the view. We stopped to look and get some pictures and then got some extremely yummy hot chocolate. Instead of taking the funicular down to Bergen, we decided to continue on hiking down. It was not too steep and we were grateful for the nice day and wanted to take advantage of it.
Taking in the view of Bergen
Bergen is such a beautiful city
Enjoying the day with my love
We hiked back down and relaxed in our apartment for a bit enjoying a glass of wine. Usually, we like to take a bottle of wine and enjoy it while we are hiking but Norway hiking has proved to be a little too difficult to do that.
Ken found a bar called No Stress that we wanted to visit. It was a place that serves craft cocktails and sense we enjoy these places at home, we thought we would enjoy it in Bergen.
No Stress and the cute streets of Bergen
The place had an 80's theme and being a child of the 80's, I really appreciated it.
Our craft cocktails. Mine was fruity and delicous
Ken enjoying his cocktail
After our cocktails we decided to stop at a sausage stand and get sausages to go for dinner. After a day hiking sitting down for dinner does not always sound appealing. The sausage stand was the perfect option.
I loved this little street in Bergen
After eating, we walked around and found a bar to go to for a couple of drinks. We had such a fun time in Bergen and were disappointed that our time was coming to an end, but excited about visiting the Lofoten Islands!
We were fairly early to bed for our early morning flight to Narvik to experience the Arctic Circle!
