We landed in Munich and quickly cleared customs. The man helping us laughed at us because we had a passport stamp for Munich on the exact same day a year prior. I told him that we really love Christmas in Germany!
Exiting the terminal and getting to the S-Bahn is always so fun this time of year with the Flugenhafen Christkindlmarkt taking place.

The Rindermarkt
Oddly enough, we stopped at my favorite gluhwein stall in the Rindermarkt and I saw one of the flight attendants from our flight. I said hi to him and the entire flight crew turned around and greeted us! It was so fun to see them and tell them our favorite areas of the markets.
My favorite gluhwein stall complete with red, white, and rose gluhwein!
We said our goodbyes to our new friends with our gluhwein in hand to walk to Sendlinger Tor to enjoy the atmosphere.
Ken enjoying Sendlinger Tor
Sendlinger Tor Christkindlmarkt. We enjoyed a little Hot Aperol walking around this market.
We left Sendlinger and walked back to the Rindermarkt to get some market food. One of our favorite places to get market food is at the Christmas Pyramid! Plus, I needed to see it all light up at night.

Enjoying my gluhwein and pommes frites in front of my beloved Christmas Pyramid!
We enjoyed our food and then grabbed our drinks and walked around to the Marienplatz. It being our first day in Munich I felt the need to get to see the Rathaus all lit up at night.
The markets were hopping!
Another beautiful gluhwein stall!
The Marienplatz tree. So gorgeous.
This gluhwein stall in the Marienplatz is always such a welcomed site!
We left the Marienplatz and walked to the neighboring Viktualienmarkt. This market has a bier option for Ken and they had live music playing. We grabbed some drinks and sat at a table to enjoy the atmosphere.

We enjoyed our time at the Viktualienmarkt, knowing that we would be back later during our stay. We decided to head to one of Ken's favorite places, the Augustiner!
Ending the night at the Augustiner with Ken's first liter of Dunkel of the trip.
Grateful for a great first day in Munich
