Hello Winter...

I knew you would arrive eventually!  Wow, it went from 60 degrees to freezing so quickly.  The forecast is for a wintery mix today.  I was slightly disappointed when I woke up and saw that there was no snow on the ground.  I was really hoping to work for home today!

I will officially be running on the treadmill during the week and outside on the weekends.  Since it is dark when I get home and cold, I cannot make myself get outside.  Running in the cold when it is light out does not seem as bad.  I am sure I will still sneak in a few weekly runs outside every now and then.  As long as the wind is not blowing a Kansas wind, it is not too terrible every now and then.

Last night I went to the gym and ran on the treadmill.  The funny thing is, I hopped on my treadmill in the basement and hopped right off.  I was so not feeling it and knew I needed to get to the gym to get a quality run in.  And what a quality run I had!  I warmed up for three miles and then ran two faster miles and then ran two miles to cool down.  My first fast mile was completed in 8:40 and my second was in 8:25.  I am really going to try to focus on speed this month and then in January, I am going to start training for the St. Louis Marathon!  My friend Laura and I ran the half marathon last year and this year we are both going to run the full!  I am so excited!

Trying and stay warm everyone!  That includes you too Tina!  I cannot believe how cold it was in Houston last week!  And snow, oh my!

Hey!! I got married in Jamaica, too. July 2004 in Ocho Rios. Since then we have only been going to Negril, though. I wish we had gotten married on there instead. Loooove Negril!

Sounds like a good speed wokrout!

It warmed up here! When I ran this AM, it was in the high 50's. Nice shorts weather!

Having a marathon to train for will motivate you to keep up with the training and it'll be fun running it with a friend.

Since you asked at my blog, to shave off that extra time on my marathon, mostly I just put in more miles and added more speedwork.

Hope you can find the time to run the number of miles you want to run and the TM doesn't bore you too much!

I'm with you on the treadmill when it comes to winter running. It's not that great to run in the dark then add the freezing cold and its just no fun=) I'm glad you have the option of the gym to break-up the monotony. Sounds like you had a great run.

thank you for stopping by my blog and for your nice comment! :) i have added you to my google reader to follow along in your running journey.

i am the same - i am not a fan of running in the dark, cold winter so i have wimped out for the treadmill these past 2 years. it is also much easier for me to run on the 'mill at the gym than at home! not sure why that is... because the couch and fridge are too close? :)

Yes, holy hell, this cold snap in TN is killing me. I am NOT running outside in the dark at 15F, sorry! I hate a suckmill, though....

One of my favorite foods! They can be messy, but I usually just slice them open with a knife.
