Christkindlmarkts 2025...Day 6: All Around Munich

Sunday was a day spent all around Munich. We enjoyed breakfast, I ran, and then we did one of my favorite things we do during this time of year, went for a long walk, and ended up stopping at a few along the way.

Our favorite place to walk to is Englischer Garten Park. Once we get to the park, we figure we may as well go far enough in the park to stop at the Chinesischer Turm Weihnachtsmarkt.

The Chinesischer Turm Weihnachtsmarkt is one of the more local markets and is very family friendly. We have been visiting this one since 2017 and I bought my Christmas Pyramid here in 2018!

Such a festive atmosphere

We left the park and decided we needed a little lunch. One of our favorite markets in Munich for lunch options is in the Residenz. This market has great drink and food options. It gets so busy at night, so we prefer to visit in the day!

My Eierpunsch, Ken's weight gluhwein, and my flammkunchen

I always love a good Christmas Pyramid!

The Residenz market. Being enclosed in a courtyard, you can see how this one can become super busy at times!

We eventually ventured back to our hotel and relaxed for a bit. Our plan was to head out just before dark and go to another local market that we enjoy in Haidhauser.

The Haidhauser Christkindlmarkt

I love getting to this market just as it is getting dark to enjoy the festive vibe.

In the Rindermarkt, there is a stahl with a fish sandwich that people wait in line for quite some time to try. Well, the Haidhauser market also has one and side tip, it is actually way better!

The delicious salmon flaming away!

We left Haidhauser and walked to Praterinsel to enjoy a newer market, Santa's Isarzauber. We visited this market when it first started in 2023. It has expanded and was super fun with a cozy, local vibe.

Enjoying gluhwein around the fire

The whole market is Santa themed, so Santa is everywhere!

The market was very charming and festive

We left Praterinsel and walked back toward our hotel. We had a little time to hit up the Rindermarkt before calling it a night!

Stopping off at our favortie gluhwein stahl!

We ended the night with apple strudel at the Augustiner by our hotel. It was a wonderful first-full day in Munich!
