Meet Lotti

On August 7, we became a family of four again.  We adopted our sweet Lotti Bleu.  From the moment we saw her, we knew she was meant to be part of our family.

It was love at first sight.

Lotti was four months old when we got her.  We adopted her from a teenage mom that could not keep her.  It was really meant to be and Kya fell in love with her instantly.

Sisters.  Kya was so excited about having someone to play with.

Lotti quickly made where ever Kya was laying her favorite spot in the house.

Those ears are insane

So much happiness in one photo

We feel so fortunate that Lotti is part of our family.  She is such a goofball and also such a sweet girl.  She likes to give kisses nonstop and also likes to snuggle.  Kya has a renewed energy with having her new little sister.  They love to play together and Lotti has even taught Kya how cool it is to eat breakfast and dinner!

Wine County...Day 4...

We had a little breakfast at the local coffee shop and made our way towards Sea Ranch, CA.  We wanted to drive the coastline and take advantage of the view.  I have to say that there were a few steep drop offs where I just could not look!  I was so nervous on some of the sharp turns with steep drop offs!

Alas, we made it to Sea Ranch and enjoyed a short hike along the coast.

Check out the beautiful views on our hike.

We were pretty much completely by ourselves during the entire hike.  It was so nice.

We found this little spot and stopped for a picnic lunch.  I swore that I saw a whale jump in the water.  Ken thinks I was hallucinating.

He may not be a big beach fan, but he sure loves a hike on a rugged coastline.

It truly is a shame I did not catch the alleged whale on video.

Beauty that we do not get to see everyday

These flowers were beautiful

We left Sea Ranch and drove to Bodega Bay.  We stopped for lunch at an outside place that makes the most incredible fish and chips.  We enjoyed lunch and then drove back to Jenner.  We decided that we wanted to take a bottle of wine and go sit on the beach near our hotel and just relax.  It was so amazing.

Our beach view

Enjoying our wine and plane snacks at the beach

We ended the night by going to the gas station by our hotel.  I kept joking about getting two drumsticks and a choco-taco and guess what the gas station had???  We left with two drumsticks and a choco-taco for dinner.  We finished a bottle of wine on our deck and were grateful for our time away together.

The next morning we flew home to Kya.

Current status of flying because you know, COVID.

Wine Country...Day 3

The next day we explored Sonoma Coast State Park by going on a nine mile hike on the Kortum trail.  It was a beautiful hike that had coastal views the entire time.

It was a beautiful day to be hiking

We loved watching all of the waves crash in against the rocks.

I always forget how much I love Northern California until we visit.

The rugged coastline is simply gorgeous no matter which angle you view it from.

We were so happy to be out and about hiking and in a different state besides Kansas!

Just more beautiful coastal views

We found a beautiful spot to enjoy a glass of wine.  You had to know that we were going to pack a bottle of wine!

Our beautiful view for our wine and snacks.  We loved watching the sea gulls fly overhead.

My hiking partner, loving life

After our hike, we drove around the Russian River and stopped off for some drinks.  I would like to say that we had a fancy dinner, but instead we enjoyed dinner from a gas station while we indulged in our fancy wine from the wineries.  We really are simple.  Also, before bed Ken may have flattered me and put a mask on his face....

Ken will do just about anything to keep his wife happy, including participating in face mask night!

It was Unsolved Mysteries on the laptop and then off to bed.  We had a great day in Northern California!
