Wine Country...Day 2

Our next morning started with a beach run for me.  Believe it or not, I have never run on the beach  before.  It was a great way to start the day!

So happy to be out for a run along the beach

Keri footsteps along the beach

It was cloudy and cool, which is perfect for running in July!

Sonoma Coast State Park

There is an area of beach that is known for breeding of seals.  Seal pups hangout there.  Obviously, we had to go over there to check them out!

Saturday was our winery day.  Our first stop of the day was at Truett Hurst since they have a gorgeous outdoor area by the creek.  They were not doing wine tastings, but were doing glasses and bottles of wine.  We enjoyed our rose down by the creek.

Such a beautiful area at Truett Hurst

Creekside reservation for two!

Ken was living his best life.  Have I mentioned how happy we were to be out of the house and out of Kansas City???

These gorgeous red Adirondack chairs were so comfortable.  Add the ambiance of the creek with the rose wine, and it was the perfect morning.

Truett Hurst was a fan favorite for us.  Ken said, "I wish we could stay here all day."

After Truett Hurst, we ventured South into the Dry Creek area to Amista.  Amista was doing tastings outside and offering charcuterie plates, which was perfect!

The grounds around the winery were gorgeous

Syrah is a favorite wine at our house!  We ended up leaving with a bottle of Amista's sparkling syrah and a bottle of blanc de blanc.  They were both delicious.  The sparkling syrah was definitely something that you do not get to try everyday.

After Amista, we drove to Healdsburg for lunch and to wander around.  We had a tasting set up at another winery, but we decided to call and cancel so that we could take our time enjoying Healdsburg.  After lunch and shopping around, we drove to our final stop of the day, Iron Horse Vineyards.

Iron Horse was definitely my favorite stop for the day.  I am a sparkling wine lover and they really hit it out of the park with their delicious wines.  I was not expecting Ken to do a sparkling tasting with me, but he chose to over the still wines that they offer.  Spoiler alert:  Ken really likes Iron Horse sparkling wines too!

It was a beautiful day to be wine tasting

The wedding cuvee is my favorite!

Feeling so grateful for the wine, the sunshine, and the lack of N95 mask.

This sweet guy treated me to a wine club membership!  He knows how much I love sparkling wines and told me to pick the membership of my choosing.  I chose the winemakers choice and get two bottles of sparkling delivered to our house every month!  I am so lucky to be reminded of this wonderful day every time I open a bottle of Iron Horse wine.
